Newport Train Station Study The Delaware Department of Transportation and the Delaware Transit Corporation is exploring the potential of adding a new train station in Newport, DE! The purpose of this project is to: Determine the ridership potential that could be realized from a  new passenger rail station in Newport. Develop preliminary planning and infrastructure that would be required to reintroduce passenger rail service to Newport, including a new station, track and power upgrades, coordination of passenger and freight operations. Identify multimodal connection enhancements for residents and commuters to access station. Ensure compliance with federal standards.
