Construction – E. Ayre Street at S. Augustine to S. James Streets
Date Posted: Friday, March 14th, 2025*UPDATED OCTOBER 31, 2025* DePaul and Company is in their second week of work and they hope to finish up by mid-November. *UPDATED OCTOBER 17,2025* DePaul and Company will be resuming their work beginning Monday, October 20, 2025 *UPDATED SEPTEMBER 5, 2025* As you are aware, construction halted pretty much as it was beginning. When the contractor milled the one side of E. Ayre Street, they discovered the underground water lines and gas mains were buried in concrete encasements. Those encasements were found to not be buried deep enough by a little less than two feet. Core samples of the road were taken in several locations and this was a complete surprise. The contractor, engineer and the utility companies met onsite to determine the best way to move forward with the project while maintaining the underground utilities undisturbed.
